BraveNewTalent is on the lookout for an outstanding Systems Manager to join our team. If you are top class open source specialist who is keen take responsibility for managing the systems of a high traffic social network, then we want to hear from you!

The Company

BraveNewTalent is a game changing Social Recruiting platform with traction, blue chip clients and heading for global scale. The platform brings together in one place all social media content the employer has – jobs, tweets, blogs, news, pictures, videos and more, and intelligently connects talent to employers and opportunities based on a recommendation system.

BraveNewTalent is developing a new model of online education, allowing employers to distribute training and skills to their talent communities in advance of the job application. Paying clients include blue chip brands such as Starbucks, IBM, L’Oréal, Tesco and McAfee.

Following UK success and venture funding from Northzone and experienced Angels such as Cambridge Angels, Pierce Casey, Mike Bourne and Alex Hoye, BraveNewTalent has now expanded its operations to the US and India.

We are located in central London in an office at the Silicon Roundabout, around Old Street and Shoreditch.

The Role

+ Tuning viral/social applications for high performance and availability
+ Creating, supporting and maintaining remote and locally hosted UNIX-based servers
+ Improving utilization of UNIX-based environments (CPU, memory, I/O)
+ Verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes
+ Manage backups and recovery as well as systems security
+ Carry out performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimisation

+ Operating Systems: Linux / Solaris
+ Web Services: Apache/NGINX
+ Databases: MySQL
+ Performance Tuning: Linux / Solarus
+ Server Virtualisation
+ Management: Puppet, SVN, BIND DNS
+ Network: VLANS, Cisco Switches + Firewalls, Zeus ZXTM Layer 7 Load Balancers
+ Experience of working with development teams
+ Experience of working in a high traffic, multiple datacentre web environment
+ Experience of working with network and server diagnostic tools
+c Strong UNIX scripting skills
+ Knowledge of Linux administration and related technologies

Your Extra Bonuses

+ Familiarity with the social networking space, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
+ Familiarity with job boards and other recruitment channels (particularly social recruitment).
